8 Athletes To Watch At The 2005 Winter Gravity Games

Janna Meyen – Women's Snowboarding Slopestyle

Janna has taken over as the queen of snowboarding slopestyle by winning just about every major title over the past few years. This favorite daughter of Big Bear Lake, Calif. is a true rider's rider who has the respect of her peers and admiration of fans. Clean 540s and arguably the most impressive rail game of any female make her nearly impossible to beat.

Tanner Hall – Men's Skiing Slopestyle and Superpipe

Consistency is Tanner Hall's trademark and it has served him well in both superpipe and slopestyle competitions over the years. The 21-year-old from Kalispell, Montana, has a distinctive style and lay-it-all-on-the-line attitude that has made him a favorite of fans and the media. Tanner is virtually a lock for a podium spot in any event he enters, and it's guaranteed that he's the skier most spectators come to see.

Lindsey Jacobellis – Women's Snowboarding Superpipe and Snowboardcross

Simply one of the most diversely talented ladies ever to step on a snowboard, Jacobellis is a serious threat to double-medal at the 2005 Gravity Games. This 5'5" graduate of the Stratton Mountain School draws inspiration from supercross to help her dominate the boardercross course. Lindsey is enjoying another fantastic season as a standout on the US Snowboard Team and looks determined to dominate her competition right through to the 2006 Olympics.

Antti Autti – Men's Snowboarding Superpipe

A relatively new name on the mainstream competitive pipe scene, Antti Autti is coming into the Gravity Games red hot after wins at the FIS World Championships and X Games. Autti has the infamous back-to-back 1080 in his run and isn't afraid to spin higher than most guy's straight airs. Look for this Finnish sensation to continue his streak of impressive performances in Copper.

Reggie and Zach Crist – Men's Skiercross

In addition to being two of the most dominant figures in men's skiercross, the Crist brothers are on a constant mission to have as much fun as they possibly can. The two former US Ski Team members from Sun Valley, Idaho, are expert kayakers, fanatical surfers, and also find time to run a video production company with the rest of their family. Good luck finding a skiercross podium without one of these guys on it. And don't be surprised if they're both there.

Seth Wescott – Snowboardcross

A seasoned veteran of the US Snowboard Team, Seth Wescott has proven that he knows how to win and looks ready to continue his success during the 2005 season. Wescott uses a combination of his size (6'2", 180 lbs.) and experience to both muscle and finesse his way through intimidating fields of snowboardcross competitors. Although he's a three-time snowboardcross national champion, don't think this graduate of the Carrabassett Valley Academy in Maine is only about racing. He has also bagged a number of impressive first descents in Alaska.

Danny Kass – Snowboarding Superpipe and Slopestyle

He may be an Olympic silver medalist in halfpipe, but Danny is just as much of a threat on the slopestyle course these days. Kass has been doing it his way ever since leaving New Jersey for the steeper slopes of Mammoth years ago. Now he's running his own company, winning consistently, and looking primed for a big performance at the Gravity Games. It's a good bet that Danny will leave Copper with at least one medal this year.
