Bob Roll Breaks his Femur Skiing

Bob Roll in the hospital days after his accident
Update February 4: "If you want to dance with your demons, break your femur!"- Bob Roll

February 2: Bobke is now out of the hospital and resting at home. He would like to thank everyone for their texts and emails wishing him well. He hopes to be back in the swing of things soon.

January 27: Although still slightly dazed from the shock of what happened and the concoction of pain relieving medications and fever reducers, Bob was able to give a little insight in to what had happened on the mountain this weekend.

He said he was skiing and probably going a little too fast in deep snow, hit some wet heavy snow underneath and instead of both his skis making it through the wet patch, his right ski got tripped up in the wet snow and his left leg kept going causing an instant break.

His recovery, which will involve intense physical therapy, is expected to be at least 6-8 weeks. Therapy will include working on a stationary bike. Bob's surgeon said that this was one of the worst breaks he had seen in his 40 years.

Bob thanks everyone for the well wishes he has received and that he promises not to be down for too long.  As he said, "You can't keep the Blobster down".

If you would like to send Bobke a get well message you can leave one at the bottom of this page.
