Special Olympics and its 2009 World Winter Games Named
Network’s Platform Initiatives
NEW YORK, N.Y. (January 5, 2009)—VERSUS, the network that celebrates real competition, today announced the formation of the network’s corporate social responsibility platform called “VERSUS Champions.” The first initiative under the network’s new program is working with the Special Olympics to support and elevate its 2009 World Winter Games, which will be held February 7-13 in Boise, Idaho. VERSUS will launch its multi-platform campaign in early January.

Brittany Kulic – Alpine Skiing
Brittany Kulic is representing Southern California in Alpine skiing. She has been involved with Special Olympics for three years and has also participated in basketball, bowling, and softball. Special Olympics has changed Brittany’s life by teaching her how to be a team player and increasing her self esteem. She says that Special Olympics “showed that I had the ability to accomplish what I set out to do and helped me to become a more confident person.” Attending the World Games gives her another opportunity to do the best she can, whether she wins or not. In her spare time Brittany enjoys reading and drawing.

Alpine Skiing
Bogus Basin Mountain Resort - Boise, Idaho, USA
Alpine Skiing competitions will be held at Bogus Basin Mountain Resort in Boise, Idaho, USA. With approximately 440 athletes, coaches and officials representing 48 Special Olympics programs from around the world, Bogus Basin will host the Alpine Skiing events offered at the World Winter Games including the Super G (SG), Giant Slalom (GS), Slalom (S), 10 M Walk, Glide and Super Glide.
