As the Tour reaches the half way point many riders may be thinking about making it to Paris. First they will have to cover the next transition stages as the Tour heads straight east towards the Alps.
Stage 11 will start in the tiny village of Vatan, (population 2,000) and finish in an even smaller village at Saint-Fargeau (population 1,800). Cutting across the French landscape the simple flat stage should be a race for the sprinters. With the finish town located less than a two hour drive from Paris it will be important for the riders to remain focused.
Just because the town’s are small doesn’t mean that the winner will have any less reason to celebrate.
