Takeya Mizugaki vs. Scott Jorgensen Added to WEC 45

An exciting bantamweight bout featuring two 135-pound contenders has been added to WEC's upcoming Dec. 19 card.
Takeya Mizugaki (12-3-2), who recently defeated Jeff Curran at WEC 42 in August, will face the Scott Jorgensen (7-3) on the undercard. The event, headlined by Donald Cerrone vs. Ed Ratcliff, will air live on Versus from the Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas.
Mizugaki was originally scheduled to fight Damacio Page on the card, but Page recently had to pull out of the bout due to an injury. The Japanese fighter's win against Curran was his first inside a WEC cage; he lost a bantamweight title fight to then-champion Miguel Torres in April. Mizugaki is currently ranked as the 4th best bantamweight in the world in Versus.com's MMA rankings.
Jorgensen is coming off an impressive first-round TKO victory over late replacement Noah Thomas at WEC 43 earlier this month. A native of Utah, but now fighting out of Boise, ID, Jorgensen has a 3-2 record inside the WEC cage. He also holds victories over Frank Gomez and Kenji Osawa.
The winner of this bout, which features a former Cage Force champion (Mizugaki) vs. a former Ring of Fire champion (Jorgensen), will put himself in line to possibly fight for the 135-pound title in 2010.
