Looking back to Halloween....
My Good – Top tier teams finally started to look the part this week. Florida and Texas both dismantled slightly overrated conference foes – but at least did it with some style.
My Bad – I didn’t think we’d ever see USC under Pete Carroll get roughed up like that on the defensive side of the ball. A young QB makes it understandable on the offensive side of the ball, but there is never a justification for giving up 40-plus points if you want to be an elite D.
My Ugly – Indiana was up 10 points going into the fourth quarter and wound up losing by 18. This is the second week in a row they’ve lost big leads in the fourth quarter. I know they are a perennial doormat, but holding leads is essential when you are a big underdog.
Love These Frogs
TCU @SDSU -- Until TCU lines up against Utah there isn’t a game they should lose. The beauty of the Horned Frogs is that they are a BCS buster, but do it in an unconventional way. It's usually spread offenses and big points that threaten to bust the BCS – but I just love the defense they play – and you rarely see that in a mid-major.
